Cleveland Browns Bold Prediction No. 2: Jadeveon Clowney gets three sacks

There was a lot to like about how the Cleveland Browns played this past Sunday but nothing was better than the way the defensive line played. Cleveland sacked Justin Fields nine times on the day and held him to one total yard passing.

The star was clearly Myles Garrett as the former No. 1 overall pick had 4.5 sacks. His breakout performance overshadowed what was also a great day for Jadeveon Clowney — the other former No. 1 overall pick who starts on the Browns defensive line.

Clowney signed a one-year deal after spending 2020 with the Tennessee Titans and was trying to prove he still could get the job done. He missed half the season due to an injury and had zero sacks, which really brought up some questions about him since he had only three sacks the prior season with the Seattle Seahawks.

Of course, general manager Andrew Berry understood that Clowney could still get after the quarterback, and putting him opposite Garrett was only going to help each player face fewer double-teams.

We finally saw his plan come together in Week 3 and while everyone will be focused on Garrett after he had 4.5 sacks, Clowney is the one who goes off in this prediction. With Minnesota turning their attention to Garrett, Clowney will blow up with three sacks of his own.
