A business trip: No home cooking for Kevin Stefanski in return to Minnesota

Kevin Stefanski Business Trip: Be prepared but plan for the unexpected
I believe this is one of Stefanski’s big strengths and why the Browns are getting better every week. When things don’t go the way you expect or want, you have to learn how to plan for that and continue moving forward. You don’t know today what will actually happen tomorrow because that’s a mystery until it happens.
There are any number of things that could go wrong on this Browns business trip from a player being injured or the team bus breaking down on the way to the stadium. Stefanski, however, who by all accounts is the ultimate “Steady Eddy” and good at not letting situations to get too big by his demeanor is an excellent planner. The players recognize this part of his game and that makes his coaching them easier because they respect that commitment.
That planning was put to a big test a year ago, especially when Stefanski was relegated to his own house basement in the teams playoff win at the Pittsburgh Steelers. So the coach has plenty of experience at what it takes to push through in some very unusual circumstances.
Kevin Stefanski Business Trip: Schedule some time to relax
Though this is a business trip, all business trips are allowed a bit of fun. My daughter’s college basketball team, when they’d travel on a road game would always get to take part in a fun activity or sightseeing adventure. I’m not sure what that would entail for the Browns but I’m sure that Stefanski is well versed in preparations and the Browns will get to enjoy their time together as a team.
Maybe they all go to the Mall of America and ride the roller coasters, hopefully before they eat a large meal.
I’m sure the emotions of the moment on Sunday will be very high for Stefanski. He’s the type of coach that keeps things close to the vest but going back “home” where he helped shape those teams for 14 years will bring back some emotion, if not during the business trip, certainly after the game when maybe he’ll get to visit for a moment with those from the Vikings that helped guide him into what he is today.
And what he is, is a very good coach that has his new Browns team, this city, and the fans of the Browns very excited about the future.
