Cleveland Browns players who will be key No. 2 and 1:  Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt

There is no better running back tandem in the NFL than Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt.

These two are responsible for the Browns leading the league in rushing.

Chubb has rushed the ball 69 times for 362 yards (5.2 YPC) and three touchdowns. He trails only Derrick Henry for most rushing yards in the NFL. He also had a crucial fumble in Week 1 against the Chiefs.

In Week 4, Chubb reached the 100-yard mark for the first time this season. Depending on who you ask, Chubb might not be the best running back in the league, but one thing for certain is he is the best pure runner.

For as smooth of a runner that Chubb is, Hunt is a back who runs fearlessly, with no regard to his body.

On the season Hunt has rushed for 234 yards on 43 attempts (5.4 YPC) with three touchdowns of his own. What separates Hunt from Chubb, is his pass-catching ability.

Hunt has caught 12 of his 15 targets for 121 yards.

He can beat the opposing defense on the ground or through the air, which is the perfect complement to Chubb’s game.

Kareem Hunt would likely be the starter on a number of teams in the NFL, but luckily for the Browns, he shares a backfield with Nick Chubb.

Chubb said on Tuesday he “really enjoys playing with Kareem Hunt. “

Sunday could be another huge game from the tandem as the Chargers don’t stop the run well. In fact, they give up 139.5 yards per game on the ground, which is the fourth most in the NFL. That plays right into Cleveland’s run-heavy attack, as they rush for a league-leading 177 yards per game.

If Baker Mayfield has another poor performance, this offense will have to rely on Batman and Robin, which isn’t a bad thing whatsoever.
