Cleveland Browns defensive trade target No. 2: Myles Jack, LB

One thing that really stands out when watching the Cleveland Browns, is the lack of production from the middle of their defense. They get splash plays from Myles Garrett and Jadeveon Clowney with guys such as Takk McKinley and Malik McDowell also standing out.

There are solid performances from defensive backs as well with Troy Hill and Greg Newsome playing well this season and Ronnie Harrison and Grant Delpit also standing out at times. However, the linebackers don’t seem to make very many splash plays — other than rookie Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah.

None of them are really bad, but they’re not making any game-changing plays either. And we can hear all we want that Joe Woods’ defensive scheme doesn’t require superstar linebackers, but we all know it would be better to have more talent. That’s why Myles Jack is a player they should look at.

Jack is arguably one of the better young linebackers in the game right now, but like everyone else with the Jacksonville Jaguars, his 2021 season hasn’t been great. A lot of that falls on head coach Urban Meyer who has turned them into a sideshow, but it could help the Browns since Jack might be interested in leaving and the Jags might be ready to get some future capital for yet another rebuild.

Jack has 441 tackles in six seasons with 6.5 sacks and four interceptions. His ability to diagnose plays and cause headaches for the opposing offense is exactly what this Cleveland defense needs.
