AFC Power Rankings No. 2 – Los Angeles Chargers

The Los Angeles Chargers have done nothing but impress the first five weeks of the season. They sit at 4-1 with impressive wins vs. the Washington Football Team, Chiefs, Raiders, and Browns. Their lone loss was vs. the Dallas Cowboys of which they were in the game the entire way.

Of all the teams we have looked at thus far, the Chargers have as easy of a path as any. They still have the Chiefs on their schedule and division rival Broncos twice, but they also have the Patriots, Eagles, Giants, and Texans on their remaining schedule, all of who have struggled to begin the season.

Not only is Justin Herbert proving to be one of the better young quarterbacks in the league, but the defense has also found its grove with playmakers like Joey Bosa and Derwin James.

Not only have the Chargers proven they can win defensive battles, they also have proven they can win the shootout like a game vs. the Cleveland Browns last Sunday.

The Chargers don’t get a lot of love being the second favorite team of a city, but this certainly could be a special year for them if they are able to stay healthy. They play in an extremely tough division, but with the Chiefs finally looking human, this is their chance to try and step up and win the AFC West.
