Cleveland Browns key to winning No. 3: Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah

One of the biggest surprises this season has been rookie linebacker, Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah. The first-round talent that fell to the second round because of a heart condition has been phenomenal. So good, Joe Woods just can’t keep him off the field any longer.

Not only has he shown his athleticism in the lateral game, but he has also shown he can hold his own as teams try and run the ball right up the gut as well.

JOK suffered a rare injury on Sunday (throat contusion), and his status is still unclear for the Cardinals. Looking at the tape though, it appears the injury happened early in the game and he continued to play so there’s hope we will see him on the field.

His importance is even more on Sunday because of the running ability of Kyler Murray for the Cardinals. JOK is one of the few guys on the Browns team that will have a chance to contain him, especially at linebacker. Anthony Walker, Sione Takitaki, Malcolm Smith, and Mack Wilson are all bigger guys who don’t have near the quickness.

Expect JOK and Ronnie Harrison to be in the box a ton on Sunday to try and contain Murray, and you may see the snap count for Walker decrease. It’s unclear if his hamstring is still an issue, but he struggled with angles last weekend vs. the Chargers.
