Cleveland Browns Offensive Rookie of the Quarter – Demetric Felton

Demetric Felton has been the Offensive Rookie of the Quarter and there hasn’t been much competition. The only competition is Anthony Schwartz, who has been M.I.A. since Week 1, and James Hudson, who has had to step in along the offensive line while Jedrick Wills has been facing injuries. Even at that point, it isn’t really a competition, they are the only three offensive rookies.

Felton hasn’t done anything to really wow us so far, but he’s been solid while he’s played. He didn’t see much action against the Chiefs outside of on special teams but has seen the field on offense during weeks 2 through 4.

So far, Felton has caught six of his seven targets on the season for a total of 76 yards and a touchdown. As previously mentioned, he hasn’t done anything to wow us so far, but we are only five games into the season. Most of the time he’s been part of the special teams unit as a return specialist; Felton has returned 18 punts for 171 total yards and three kickoffs for 54 yards.

The sixth-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft has seen a surprising amount of production on offense considering where he was drafted and the players that he would fall behind. The UCLA product was one of the players that were considered to be on the fringe of making the roster before the season started just because of the amount of talent in the locker room already.

Needless to say, he’s made the most of his opportunity so far and has become a spark plug for the Cleveland Browns on offense and special teams. His contributions have earned him the Offensive Rookie of the Quarter honors for the first five weeks of the 2021 NFL season.
