Cleveland Browns Round 2 pick: Zachary Carter, EDGE, Florida

Day two in this mock draft is all about finding players who can beef up the Browns defensive line. First is their second-round pick which is used on Florida defensive end Zachary Carter. While Carter doesn’t seem to get as much hype as teammate Brenton Cox, he’s still a player on the rise — and would be a much better fit on the Cleveland defensive line.

Carter stands in at 6-foot-5 and 285-pounds, which allows him to play both on the edge and inside on the line. He’s also made huge strides during his senior season, recording 17 tackles (8.5 for a loss), 5.5 sacks, and a forced fumble.

Should Cleveland end up moving on from Jadeveon Clowney, Carter would be a decent replacement as the left end across from Myles Garrett. However, he also doesn’t prevent them from retaining Garrett or Takk McKinley due to his versatility that offers many ways for him to see the field.

Cleveland Browns Round 3 pick: Tyler Davis, DT, Clemson

The second pick on day two comes in the third round and this time the selection is Tyler Davis from Clemson. Davis is capable of playing either defensive tackle position although he seems best suited as a three-technique.

He’s better against the run than the pass which is why he’s available in the third round but he still offers a lot of value for whoever ends up taking him.
