Cleveland Browns 5 best victories over Pittsburgh Steelers

The Historic 51-0 Shutout In Pittsburgh On Opening Day
The Cleveland Browns were rolling as a franchise beginning in 1985 and through their departure to Baltimore in 1995.
In 1989, the Browns hired a new coach by the name of Bud Carson, who was known as an excellent defensive coordinator. That was very evident in game one on the road in Pittsburgh where he couldn’t have scripted a better start to his very brief NFL head coaching career.
Unfortunately, the honeymoon didn’t last long because midway through his second year with the team he was fired after the the cluv started the year out at 2-7.
But back to the opener in Pittsburgh where the team was on fire and could do no wrong. The Browns defense gobbled up eight, yes eight turnovers and returned three of those for touchdowns.
It’s the most lopsided victory in the series and it was Cleveland’s biggest shutout victory in their franchise’s extensive history. At the time the enthusiasm from destroying the Steelers on opening day in Pittsburgh was a dream come true for fans. The Browns would go back to another AFC Championship Game against their other enemy of the state in the Denver Broncos later that year.
