No. 3 – Cleveland Browns S Ronnie Harrison

One of the more underrated moves that Berry has pulled off in Cleveland was the trade for Ronnie Harrison before the start of last season. Last season when it felt like the entire secondary was always injured, Harrison was the second-best player on the field a lot of the time behind Myles Garrett.

Harrison is the perfect fit for this defense. He’s a guy who thrives on moving around the field. He can be a great half-field safety, he does well in man coverage vs. tight ends and running backs, and he isn’t afraid to put his nose down and make tough plays in the running game.

The issue is, the Cleveland Browns also have Grant Delpit. I know this defense is a system where three safeties will play a ton, but I think by next season Delpit will be on the field for most of the snaps and you’ll see the Browns draft a young safety to bring in as the fifth secondary player.

Additionally, Troy Hill has been playing a lot more of the “rover” type position the last two weeks and he has been dominant. He doesn’t have the deep zone coverage experience, but he has been extremely effective at blitzing and playing sticky coverage on interior wide receivers.

Harrison is a great player and was a fantastic find by Berry, but he is a luxury that the Browns won’t be able to keep with his rookie deal coming to an end after the 2021 season. Expect Harrison to be a highly sought-after free agent who could get a big payday.

I must add, Harrison plays with a bit too much emotion as well. He has had multiple bonehead penalties the last two seasons that have been costly for the Browns.
