No. 1 – Cleveland Browns WR Jarvis Landry

I know a lot of people will hate this, but let’s be honest, this offense doesn’t need a star receiver to be good, and Jarvis Landry has a cap hit over $16.5 million in 2022 with not a lot of dead money. With a trade highly unlikely because of the bad contract, I see Landry also being a cap casualty this offseason.

Landry has been nothing short of fantastic during his time in Cleveland, but he is another luxury the team won’t be able to afford moving forward. Remember, even though the offensive line and running backs are taken care of, Bakery Mayfield and Denzel Ward will likely both be receiving deals in the next 12-months as well.

The Browns also appear to be in a good situation with wide receivers. Donovan Peoples-Jones and Anthony Schwartz have both played well at times, and if Landry is released, signing a guy like Rashard Higgins back may make sense.

Let’s not forget, the 2022 draft class is extremely talented at wide receiver. The Browns would have an opportunity at drafting a start in the first round but could easily steal a starting caliber guy in rounds two or three as well.

I’m not downplaying what Landry did for this organization at all. He was far more important and productive than Beckham ever was, but his cap hit is just too much considering the role is smaller because of the offensive scheme.
