No. 1 – Cleveland Browns WR Jarvis Landry

Before the hate starts on this one, just hear me out. I know fans love Jarvis Landry and he has been great to this organization. I wish his salary hit wasn’t so high, and I’d be in full support of keeping him around.

However, we can’t ignore the facts, his production has been down. After not missing a game his first two seasons with the Browns, he has missed six games the last two years. He has also played through some injuries which is great, but the Browns still aren’t getting him at his full ability.

After a fantastic season in 2019, we have seen a continued downward path of his production. He played almost every offensive snap in 2019 with over 1,100 yards and six touchdowns. In 2020 he missed a game and a half and only had 840 yards receiving with three touchdowns. This year in six games, 219 yards receiving and zero touchdowns.

I like Landry, but we also can’t forget about the two drops and fumble vs. the Pittsburgh Steelers that ultimately killed the Cleveland Browns chances at winning the game.

The bottom line, $16 million per year is just far too much. And why it may have been tough to find a trade partner, a receiver desperate team may have been willing to take on the contract if the Browns would have eaten the money this season.

Either way, don’t look for Landry to be a part of the Browns moving forward. He is a great player but is too expensive for the team to keep moving forward.
