Prospect No. 1 – Garrett Wilson, Wide Receiver, Ohio State

I know I’m an Ohio State homer, but I think Garrett Wilson was built to be an amazing NFL receiver. He’s only 6-foot-0 and 188 pounds, but he plays much bigger than that. He has the speed to be a deep threat but is also fantastic over the middle and on deep crossing routes.

Wilson is a top-five wide receiver in the draft, and I find it hard to see him slipping out of the top 20 picks of the first round. The question is, will Berry finally use a first-rounder to address the wide receiver issues?

Wilson is a guy that can do it all. He has fantastic hands for catches in traffic, tremendous balance for jump ball opportunities, and he is a tremendous athlete that allows him to play four or five inches taller than he is.

If you land a guy like Wilson to pair with Donovan Peoples-Jones and Anthony Schwartz, you have a great base for the future-forward. The Cleveland Browns would still likely need to bring in some sort of veteran presence for the roster, but Mayfield’s life would be much easier than it is now.

The only doubt with Wilson now is, how he will handle press coverage at the next level. Because the Buckeyes were so talented on offense teams couldn’t press him or double cover him, which made life a lot easier.

The pros far outweigh the cons for Wilson, and I think he has the ability to be an all-pro type talent.
