Cleveland Browns under the radar player No. 1 – James Hudson

I hate to put an offensive lineman as the number one player to help the Browns win a game, but I think that could be the case on Sunday. While I haven’t been overly impressed with Baker Mayfield’s play the last three weeks, he has been under a ton of pressure.

Blake Hance has been the one filling in for the injured Jack Conklin the last few weeks, but the rumors are that the rookie, James Hudson, has had some fantastic practices and will get a shot at right tackle this week.

Hance has been solid, but he’s still a backup and he’s gotten a bit of a free pass after one fantastic game vs. the Steelers last year when Joel Bitonio was out for COVID and Jedrick Wills was hurt.

I’ll be honest, Hudson terrifies me as he looked bad when he’s played in the past. But Bill Callahan is the best offensive line coach in the NFL, so I fully trust any decision he makes.

We are at a point where the play has been so bad that a change almost needed to be made to change the mojo of the group. If the Browns offensive line can give Mayfield a little more time than two weeks ago, I think you will see him be far more productive.

Next. Myles Garrett seems to throw shade at coaches, again. dark

I’m not saying this means he will get a five-year extension, but if Hudson can play well, the Browns have a much better chance at winning the game.
