Bold Prediction No. 1: Nick Chubb will have the best game of his season

I believe Nick Chubb is the heart and soul of the team. His willingness to go the extra mile for the team has always been very evident. The run he made a year ago to help close out the victory against the Houston Texans will always be front and center in understanding Chubb’s dedication to the team and his commitment to winning.

This season has been a good one for Chubb. He’s had to miss a few games for various reasons but still has racked up 926 yards on the ground. In his fourth year now with the Browns, he’s had two seasons already over the 1000-yard mark. He should easily surpass that mark again this season.

His two best games from a statistical standpoint were the games against the Los Angeles Chargers and the Cincinnati Bengals. In the Chargers game, he ran for 161 yards on 21 carries. In the Bengals game, he took 14 carries for 137 yards. Just your standard 10 yards a carry average. He also had two touchdowns in that game.

In a showdown between these two teams a year ago, the Raiders controlled the game clock. They ran 71 plays to Cleveland’s 47. While the Browns ran the ball 22 times Las Vegas pounded the ball 45 times. There was no Chubb in the game a year ago as he was recovering from an injury.

So, the fact that Chubb will be there this time will hopefully make a difference. He hasn’t had more than 22 carries in any game this season. In his career, he’s had only one game, back in 2018 when he ran the ball 28 times. So, the likelihood that Chubb gets more than that is highly unlikely.

However, Chubb is due for a big game, and what a better moment in time to have the game of his season to help the Browns win the game and keep chasing the playoffs.

Bold Prediction No. 2: Myles Garrett will record two more sacks

Myles Garrett had a career moment a week ago when he strip-sacked the Baltimore Ravens quarterback Tyler Huntley and took the football back for a touchdown. It was the first in his career. With that sack, number 15 on the year, he also took over the lead for most sacks in a season for a Cleveland Brown. Former lineman Reggie Camp had the record of 14 before now.

With the sack, Garrett also got a step closer to Clay Matthews’ franchise career record of 62.5 sacks — Garrett now sits at 57.5 sacks. If Garrett can get six more sacks over the next four games, he’ll take that lead. He’s also chasing Pittsburgh Steelers lineman T.J. Watt who has 16 so far to lead the NFL this year.
