Cleveland Browns Player No. 2 – Tommy Togiai

One of the more disappointing positions this season has been defensive tackle. Malik McDowell and Malik Jackson were expected to be an effective pair, but the Cleveland defense has continued to get gashed up the middle at times.

It’s a bit surprising that a guy like Tommy Togiai really hasn’t even gotten a shot yet, but with McDowell likely to miss the game on Monday, look for him to get his first substantial playing time alongside second-year guy Jordan Elliott.

Togiai was a fantastic player for Ohio State but hasn’t really gotten a shot yet in-game action. He is slightly undersized, and clearly, the coaches haven’t seen what they want to be willing to put him in the game yet.

Carr will want to throw the ball, but don’t forget Josh Jacobs who will be hungry to pound the rock up the middle. With Carr’s favorite target, Darren Waller out of the game, you also may see a little bit more focus on the run game than originally anticipated.

I’m excited to see Togiai finally get a shot. At the collegiate level, he was a great run stopper but also had the ability to collapse the pocket and help the edge rushers get home faster. With the two starters currently struggling, Togiai could certainly earn some extra playing time if he plays well tonight.
