2021 has been a season of disappointment for the Cleveland Browns and these three players have been the main culprits and the reason for their struggles

When the Cleveland Browns lost to the Kansas City Chiefs in the first week of the season, there was a lot of disappointment amongst fans but at the same time, there was optimism because for the second game in a row Cleveland and Kansas City played games that went down to the wire.

Surely, we thought that they would bounce back from that heartbreaking opening day weekend and go on to have an even better season than last. We thought probably the Chiefs and the Browns would meet again in the playoffs, maybe even in the AFC Championship Game.

After the team rattled off three wins in a row, everything for Cleveland seemed back on track and that goal of reaching the Super Bowl for this talented team, at least on paper seemed like a good bet.

That hasn’t been the case, as they have gone 4-7 since that time. They haven’t won with any consistency and their chance at even making the playoffs is out of their control now as they will have to rely on other teams to squeak into the postseason.

There’s a lot of blame to go around this season and more than a few players that didn’t rise up and play as they should have for a team that has all the talent in the world. Before we discuss a few of those players in more detail, there’s also plenty of blame to go around the coaches on the team and none bigger than the team’s head coach in Kevin Stefanski.

After his first season and his team going 11-5 in the regular season and taking the team to the playoffs for the first time since 2002, there was much anticipated.

From his play-calling, either going for it on fourth down too many times or failing to utilize his run game better than he has, it’s not been a good campaign for the second-year coach. Many times, he seemed a step or two behind his opponent and has been questioned throughout the year on many of his questionable decisions. I’m hopeful that next year the team and Stefanski can have a more united message again as they seemed in the past.

With that, let’s look at a few other big-name players for the team that was the biggest disappointments for this team filled with promise.
