Cleveland Browns WR Jarvis Landry

Jarvis Landry came to Cleveland before the 2018 season with much expected from the veteran wide receiver. Adding him to a pool of offensive weapons at Mayfield’s disposal all seemed like it couldn’t miss.

Well, it’s missed a lot over these past four seasons and this year has been one of his worst. For starters, the once-reliable player, who never missed a game, has now missed five games this year with various issues. All of his stats are way down this year including the fact he’s only caught one touchdown. He has two rushing touchdowns, but that certainly isn’t enough coming from a player getting paid north of $14 million.

His best buddy, former Browns wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. forced his way out of town back in November and has abandoned Landry all by his lonesome. He’s like a lonely flag waving in the wind. It certainly doesn’t feel like Landry will be here after the season is over.

Even though he isn’t a free agent until 2023, the 14-million-dollar price tag to keep a player like Landry around might be too steep for the Browns front office to pay out next season. Would there be a team the Browns could trade Landry to?

Regardless, if he does stay next year, he needs to produce more than the 452 yards and one touchdown he has this season. Landry has been praised by many for the win-at-all-cost messages he’s been delivering to his teammates over the years, but right now he’s not doing much for his team and that is a huge letdown.
