Is there really a rift between Baker Mayfield and Kevin Stefanski?

The Cleveland Browns have enough problems, and now a misalignment between quarterback and head coach could headline the 2022 offseason.
The Cleveland Browns have a lot of cleaning up to do before the 2022 NFL season. Not only will Andrew Berry be working on free agency additions, draft boards, and contract extensions, he’s also going to have to figure out how to handle his starting quarterback and head coach.
In Mary Kay Cabot’s latest piece for Cleveland.com, she discloses sources that have shared that there is a fair amount of tension between Baker Mayfield and Kevin Stefanski.
While it’s very easy to believe, I will admit it was something the two of them hid very well throughout the season.
There are really only two options for this type of problem. You either eliminate one of the problems, or you get the problems to work out. When it came to Odell Beckham and his problems earlier in the season you could feel there was only one option, and that was getting rid of him.
I have a better feeling about Mayfield and Stefanski figuring out a way to co-exist again and making things work. Remember, nothing causes more stress on a relationship than losing. These guys won 11 games together and went to the playoffs in 2020. Taking the step backward would be hard on anyone.
It won’t be a walk in the park for these issues to be fixed, and if Mayfield continues to play poorly it could be a relationship that can’t be fixed. This will be like the OBJ situation in a way, winning will solve a ton of problems.
Keep reading to dive deeper into the rift that has happened between the two.
