Cleveland Browns Big Name Free Agent  Target No. 3

Chandler Jones

Imagine a defensive front that includes Myles Garrett, Jadeveon Clowney, and Chandler Jones. Now, imagine the fear that opposing quarterbacks would have each and every snap.

Let’s back up real quick. Clowney is also a free agent in the upcoming offseason, so time will tell if he will stay or chase greener pastures elsewhere. Keeping Clowney should be important to general manager Andrew Berry, but again, time will tell.

So, if Clowney stays, and the Browns can sign Jones, that would make the defensive front scary. Clowney could move to the tackle position while Jones occupied the opposite EDGE spot of Garrett on passing downs.

Jones turns 32 next month, but is still a prime free agency target for any team in the NFL. In 15 games in 2021, Jones accumulated 10.5 sacks. Five of those sacks came in Week 1 against the Tennessee Titans. He also finished with 41 tackles, 12 tackles for a loss, 26 quarterback hits, 36 pressures, and a Pro Bowl selection.

For his career, Jones has been sensational. In seven of his 10 professional seasons, he has double-digit sacks totals. He is a four-time Pro Bowler and a two-time First-Team All-Pro. In 2017, he signed a five-year, $82.5 million extension, a season after he was traded from the Patriots to the Cardinals.

Chandler Jones will surely make a huge splash should he be courted and signed by the Browns.
