Cleveland Browns Outside Free Agent No. 1 – DJ Chark, Wide Receiver

Another interesting player that comes to mind for the Cleveland Browns is DJ Chark. The 6-foot-4, 198-pound receiver will be coming off of his rookie deal, and with all the chaos in Jacksonville, there is reason to believe he will be looking for a new home.

Chark could be the perfect fit for the Browns. He’s a big target who can be a deep threat but is also a great route runner that can get open in tight coverage. After a breakout season in year two, Chark saw his numbers decline in 2020, and injuries in 2021 really hindered his performance.

The big question with Chark will be injuries.  In his four-year career, he has yet to play a full 16-game schedule. But, with those question marks could come a discount which could be very intriguing for Berry and the Browns.

Even with an injury concern, Chark could be one of those guys that just needs a fresh start as well.  Remember, he had over 1,000 yards receiving and eight touchdowns in 2019 when he was a pro-bowler, so he has proven he can do it.

Cleveland may struggle to bring in a big free-agent wide receiver because of the struggles out of Mayfield and this offense the last few years, a high-risk, high-reward guy like Chark may be the perfect fit for both.
