3 big-name free agents Cleveland Browns won’t be able to land

Free Agent Cleveland Browns won’t land No. 2 – Calais Campbell, Defensive Tackle
One of the biggest holes on the roster last year was defensive tackle. I know it’s hard to justify spending a ton of money at a position that is undervalued in the league, but it was a glaring weakness.
There is some young talent with Jordan Elliott and Tommy Togiai, but Berry needs to bring a guy in with some experience that can still play at a high level. And while I would love that guy to be Calais Campbell, I really don’t see that happening.
For one, I think the Ravens will do everything possible to bring him back. And if he does leave, I see him going to someone who is even more of a contender. The Browns are close, but I’m talking about him taking a discount and going to someone like the Chiefs or Bills.
Campbell is like a fine wine, he will be 36 next season but is still producing at a crazy high level. He is a monster at 6-foot-8, 300 pounds, and can do it all. He can destroy a run game and get after the passer.
His age really scares me as well, and I also think that will make Berry less interested. He has the philosophy of letting a guy go a year early vs. a year late, as he showed with Sheldon Richardson last year.
The Browns will sign a free agent defensive tackle or draft one early, but I don’t think it will be the home run that some folks are wanting.
