3 big-name free agents Cleveland Browns won’t be able to land

Free Agent Cleveland Browns won’t land No. 1 – Chris Godwin, Wide Receiver
If defensive tackle was a glaring weakness, the wide receiver position was 10 times worse for the Cleveland Browns last season. Between the drama, injuries, and lack of production, I find myself struggling more and more with placing any blame on Baker Mayfield.
There is a great chance the Browns cut ties with Jarvis Landry that will open a ton of cap space, but I still don’t see them going crazy for a wide receiver. Chris Godwin is a name I saw a ton (more before his injury), but I’m not sure I buy it just yet.
This is a guy who will be coming off a serious injury and looking for big-time dollars after three pretty solid years in Tampa Bay, two seasons with over 1,100 yards per season.
The biggest reason the Browns won’t be interested is the money. The next reason is coming off the injury. I don’t see Berry wanting to take that risk. Remember, this receiving class is absolutely loaded, and the Browns should be able to get a no. one guy at pick no. 13.
However, you could see a mid-tier guy in free agency get signed. The Browns will need all the help they can get, and I do see them being active.
While a guy like Godwin or Davante Adams is unlikely, keep tabs on names like Christian Kirk or Michael Gallup who could fall into the second wave of signings.
