Cleveland Browns Potential Decimated Position No. 2 – Tight End

One of the most interesting positions this offseason will be at tight end. I would not be surprised if the Cleveland Browns re-signed David Njoku, and Austin Hooper stuck around for the 2022 season.

I also wouldn’t be shocked if the market gets hot for Njoku and the Browns can’t re-sign him, and they decide to move on from Hooper who has been a major disappointment after being the big signing just two years ago.

A question many have had the last two years is why isn’t Njoku getting more snaps? At times he has been the most dynamic player on the entire offense behind Nick Chubb, with elite athleticism and size to make the big plays.

If they miss out on Njoku, the Browns may be forced to keep Hooper even if they don’t really want to. They could try and sign a free agent, but with tight ends not being a huge expense compared to other positions, they may just bite the bullet on Hooper one more season.

I truly hope that they are able to keep Njoku, but I’m not sure how motivated he’ll be to come to a team that has made him the second tight end the last two years. He could certainly find an opportunity to be the featured guy and make some big money.
