Cleveland Browns mock draft with only offensive picks allowed

Cleveland Browns Round 3 Pick: Jeremy Ruckert, TE, Ohio State
The Browns will have a tough decision on their hands with David Njoku hitting free agency. Well, they shouldn’t have a tough decision, but they will.
Njoku is hands-down the best tight end on this roster but they overpaid for Austin Hooper in 2020 and it might be hard to get out of his contract in 2022. For that reason, they could end up losing Njoku. If they do, they need to add another tight end and Jeremy Ruckert could very well be that guy.
Ruckert has improved each season in the league and put up 615 yards and 12 touchdowns in his career. He needs to develop some but could be a solid player to groom for a bigger role in the future.
Cleveland Browns Round 4 Pick: Bailey Zappe, QB, Western Kentucky
It doesn’t matter what conference you play in, 62 touchdowns in 14 games is impressive — and that’s what Bailey Zappe had for Western Kentucky in 2021. He also showed during the Senior Bowl that he can work against better talent than he faced in Conference USA.
Having said that, this is a player who they pick with the future in mind. If Baker Mayfield is unable to take his next step, Zappe could be someone who contends for a shot in 2023.
Cleveland Browns Round 4 Pick: Justin Shaffer, IOL, Georgia
Another offensive lineman is added as the Browns use their second pick in Round 4 on Justin Shaffer from UGA. Shaffer could help them improve their reserves here — and they need to do so considering how often they have had to rely on backups in recent years.
