Cleveland Browns No. 2 free agent WR bargain: Christian Kirk

A steady — but somewhat under-the-radar — career is how some would look at Arizona Cardinals wideout Christian Kirk after his first four seasons in the NFL.

He was drafted from Texas A&M in the second round of the 2018 NFL draft. He’s gained over 2,900 yards in receptions and scored 17 touchdowns in his 56 games with the team. He had a nice campaign this past season, where he caught 77 passes for 982 yards and five touchdowns — with the receptions and yardage totals being the best of his career.

He’s played as a slot receiver but has played on the outside as well. The Cardinals have several other high-profile wide receivers including DeAndre Hopkins which is why the pending free agent could be intrigued by moving on and finding a new team where he could be the centerpiece of the wide receiver room. The Browns certainly would fit that bill, especially if Cleveland were to release Jarvis Landry.

He was paid just over $2.4 million this past season and will be looking for a bigger deal with a new team. Spotrac.com projects him to be offered an $11.8 million a season deal. That might be a bit steep, but it would still be less than what the Browns would have to pay Landry.
