Cleveland Browns Under the Radar WR No. 3 – Alec Pierce

One of the biggest overachieving programs in 2021 was the Cincinnati Bearcats, and wide receiver Alec Pierce was a big part of their success. Pierce has the size and speed at 6-foot-3, 208 pounds, and a 4.39 forty-yard dash, but he doesn’t quite have an elite profile.

Even with a strong senior season, he still has never had elite stats in college and has only gone against a few NFL-caliber cornerbacks. His length will have scouts interested, and his freak athleticism could soar his stock before the draft.

Pierce is a willing blocker in the run game and can instantly be a big target deep threat which the Cleveland Browns desperately need. They thought Anthony Schwartz could fill that void, but it doesn’t appear that pick is going to pan out (this ten seconds).

There are some questions with Pierce. He likes to use his body to catch the ball and has a limited route tree at the moment. The good news is you can’t coach speed, but you can coach a guy on how to catch the ball and how to get open while running a route.

Pierce is a guy that would likely need some grooming before he was ready to contribute, but if he is still on the board in round five, the Cleveland Browns could be getting a huge value with a guy that has the potential to play as a rookie.
