3 Prospects Cleveland Browns should be watching closely at 2022 combine

Cleveland Browns combine player to watch No. 1 – Christian Watson, Wide Receiver, North Dakota State
The Cleveland Browns will likely draft a wide receiver with pick No. 13, and they will likely sign a free agent at the position as well. I don’t expect it to be a $20 million per year guy, but I do see them signing someone with some past NFL production.
I also see them drafting a project wide receiver in the later rounds. And while I’d love to see them draft a slot guy in round one, a guy like Christian Watson from North Dakota State could make sense in the back half of the draft.
He has the size of an outside receiver with great speed, and he runs crisp routes. Those are three things that don’t usually come together in a wide receiver.
Watson has the quickness to go with speed and continued to get stronger throughout his collegiate career.
We can’t overlook that he hasn’t played against a lot of top-tier talent, and he sometimes doesn’t play as big as he actually is.
Watson wouldn’t be drafted to come in and save the offense, the Browns would likely utilize his speed on special teams for a year, and then they could continue to develop his receiver skills. Watson could get some good snaps as wide receiver three in 2022 and really develop for years two and three. He would be a project similar to Donovan Peoples-Jones.
