Cleveland Browns attention-grabbing wide receiver No. 4: Alec Pierce

For anyone that follows college football closely, Alec Pierce is a player. Pierce was a huge part of the Cincinnati Bearcats historical run that saw the non-power five school make the College Football Playoffs. Despite his collegiate success, Pierce has not been considered a highly touted prospect at the next level. That may have all changed after the NFL combine.

One thing that people knew Pierce would test well in was the vertical jump (Spoiler Alert, he did) as he was one of the best high point receivers in college football the past two seasons. Pierce did not disappoint, turning a 40.5-inch vertical jump. However, his stellar testing did not stop there. Pierce also performed a 4.33-second 40-yard dash, as well as a 129-inch broad jump.

When you combine those explosive numbers with his size (officially 6-foot-3 and 211lbs) what you have is a legitimate NFL wide receiver prospect. Pierce is not without limitations, as his route tree is not fully developed. However, after testing as well as he did, a team could fall in love with Pierce’s physical tools and take him off the board earlier than expected.

For a team like the Browns, Pierce would be a very intriguing option if he is still available in the fifth or sixth round.
