40-yard dash: 3 players with elite speed Cleveland Browns need
By Jacob Roach
No. 1 player with elite speed the Cleveland Browns should target- Christian Watson, wide receiver, North Dakota State
Having elite speed is one thing but if you can mix that with really good size, then you have a player that has the tools to be great. That is what you get with North Dakota State’s wide receiver Christian Watson.
Watson stands at 6-foot-4 and weighs 208 pounds while showcasing elite speed with a 4.36-second 40-yard dash. Having nice size at 6-foot-4 and being able to move as well and quickly as Watson is something that should be of interest to the Browns.
He has the raw ability to stretch the field vertically while also possessing great size to go up and outmuscle defensive backs for the football. There are some things that Watson needs to work on including being more reliable in the hands department but this is also a player that isn’t projected to go in the first round of the draft.
Watson is the kind of player that you make your wide receiver two and he takes a ton of pressure off your number one guy with his natural ability. His raw tools and ability aren’t things that can be taught and with some grooming at the next level he could be a day two draft steal.
Watsons’ elite speed alone should put him on the Browns’ radar but when you add his size to the mix he becomes really intriguing.
