Potential Baker MayfieldLanding Spot No. 2 – Indianapolis Colts

Unfortunately for the Indianapolis Colts, they play within the same division as the Texans, so they won’t even get a look at Watson. However, after dealing Carson Wentz to the Washington Commanders, there is no doubt they are in the quarterback market.

The other downside of an average 2021 season is they likely won’t have a shot at one of the top quarterback prospects in the draft either.

I think the Colts have their hearts set on Garoppolo, but no one really knows for sure. He is a guy with a long injury history and truly doesn’t have a ton of starting experience. But you can’t hide that the guy knows how to win games.

The 49ers are in a fantastic situation with Garopollo. There are several teams interested, and after Watson is dealt, not a lot of high-end players are available. Because his cost could go so high, you may see a team like the Seahawks get involved with all the assets they acquired for Russell Wilson.

I don’t think Baker Mayfield would be their number one option, but I also think if push came to shove, they would be willing to give him a shot if the price was right. You may only get a second-round pick in 2022, but if the Browns land another quarterback, they won’t have a lot of leverage on where he goes.

The Colts have a good running back, decent offensive line, and a few weapons to throw to. I don’t think the system is as quarterback friendly as Cleveland, but he could have some success here.  Some type of incentive deal could make sense between the Colts and Browns.
