Cleveland Browns Round 3 Pick 78- Jalen Pitre, Safety, Baylor

The Browns lost third safety MJ Stewart to free agency this week and will likely go looking for his replacement in the NFL Draft. Jalen Pitre is a versatile safety that can also come down and play the slot in nickel situations. General manager Andrew Berry has shown before that players with versatility have a lot of value.

Pitre is explosive in coverage and moves sideline to sideline so well that he closes the gaps in coverage easily. The thing that jumps off the tape is his instincts and football IQ, Pitre reads and diagnoses plays at an elite level.

His effort will never be in question, Pitre plays through the whistle on every play. His reactions and instincts help him just as much in the run game as it does in the passing game. He has a few areas to clean up and he is a little undersized, but his versatility as a third safety may be invaluable to the Browns.

Cleveland Browns Round 3 Pick 99- Alex Wright, EDGE, UAB

The Browns added depth to the edge rusher room with the addition of Chase Winovich, but more talent is needed. Alex Wright from UAB is the perfect case of a player having all the tools but still needing to put it all together. Wright is raw but if he can put it all together it could be something special.

Wright stands at 6-foot-7, 270 pounds will long arms and an explosive first step off the edge. Players of Wright’s size aren’t usually as athletic as he is, though he still needs to reform himself as a rusher, learning from Myles Garrett would be a great way to do it.

His lateral speed and ability to cover ground in the run game is one of his more reformed skills right now. He shows the ability to bend around the edge, similar to Myles Garrett, you are looking at a player if developed correctly would make a deadly pair for a long time in Cleveland.
