Cleveland Browns tight end target number 1- Jeremy Ruckert, Ohio State

Jeremy Ruckert is one of the more well-rounded tight ends in the draft, where he is an above-average blocker and an above-average pass catcher. Ruckert came in at the NFL combine at 6-foot-5 and 250 pounds. Ruckert was a bit overshadowed in the passing game at Ohio State because of the great talents they had at wide receiver but he shouldn’t be slept on.

Ruckert needs work on his route running to create more separation at the next level, but he is a smooth runner that excels in contested catch situations. He has the athleticism for verticle routes as well as the ability to make some impressive acrobat catches.

His ability to block is one of his strong suits, not just in the run game but downfield in the passing game after the catch. Ruckert doesn’t take many plays off, if he isn’t on the receiving end of the pass he will still work downfield to try and spring the play for a bigger gain.

Ruckert reminds me a bit of Browns tight end Harrison Bryant coming out of college except he is a better blocker already.

Next. 3 free agents Cleveland Browns should still be after. dark

He would be another really nice scheme fit if the Browns are looking to add to the room late Day two of the NFL Draft.
