Free Agent Target No. 1 – Jadeveon Clowney, Defensive End

The most interesting free agent in the league is once again Jadeveon Clowney. I can’t decide if he hates offseason workouts, or if he truly just takes this long to make any big decision in his life.

Rumors are the Cleveland Browns have offered him a strong two-year offer, but he continues to wait it out. I’m sure others are interested, but at this time there have been no other offers leaked from other teams.

Clowney may be over-inflating his value in his head, but Berry needs to do his best to keep him in Cleveland. Time has proven that he isn’t an elite no. one edge option but paired with Garrett last season, these two were extremely effective.

Clowney didn’t have the sack figures, but his pressures and dominance against the run are much to be desired by any organization. I think because of the production last year and limited injuries, Berry wants to lock him up for two years.

However, if the price tag is too high and Berry worries about coming up with the money to pay Ward, you could see another one-year deal that isn’t finalized until closer to training camp.

There are plenty of other guys like Jerry Hughes, Trey Flowers, or Melvin Ingram who could fill his void, but Clowney is by far the best option.
