3 Teams Baker Mayfield should demand a trade to

Baker Mayfield Trade Location No. 3 – New York Giants
For an organization that all but chased Eli Manning out of the league, they have really struggled at finding a quarterback recently. In fact, I think they are in a very similar situation as the Browns just a few weeks ago.
Daniel Jones hasn’t been fantastic, but he’s also been good enough to not boot out of town. When quarterback play has been poor in the past, it’s easy to let mediocre ride.
Currently, the Giants have until May 2nd, to decide if they want the $22.4 million guaranteed fifth-year option of Jones’s rookie deal in 2023. At the moment, I’m not sure they are interested, and they could be a good partner for the Browns.
The bottom line is, that the Giants likely aren’t contenders for the 2022 season. They could decline the fifth-year option for Jones, give up next to nothing for Mayfield, and basically have an open season to see if either one is truly the future of the organization.
Mayfield hasn’t been fantastic, but he likely is a major upgrade for the Giants and may be a great option for a completely revamped coaching staff in 2022. I’m not sure the Giants have anything crazy to offer, but there is no doubt that Mayfield would love the media attention, and he may get one more chance to show his worth in a contract season.
