Cleveland Browns 2022 Opposing QB No. 5: Lamar Jackson

It is tough sledding from this point on in this list. The Browns play a who’s who of quarterbacks in 2022. And while there are more skilled quarterbacks on the slate, Lamar Jackson is perhaps the most dangerous. On any given Sunday Jackson can make a defense look as if they have never even practiced together before.

However, Jackson is coming off his most disappointing season as a pro, and now the former MVP finds himself in the middle of a contract negotiation stalemate. If the two sides are unable to agree on an extension before the season, the situation could get tense in Baltimore. Jackson’s most effective leverage would be to ball out and force the Ravens’ hands.

It is unlikely that the Ravens will endure the same metric ton of injuries that they dealt with last season. Just as it is unlikely that Jackson will have another down season. Look for Jackson and the Ravens to get the ball rolling downhill yet again.

Cleveland Browns 2022 Opposing QB No. 4: Justin Herbert

If you were to build a quarterback from the ground up, what you would most likely end up with would be Los Angeles Chargers quarterback, Justin Herbert. Right now, the win and loss record has not necessarily reflected the skill level that Herbert has shown on the field but he’s still an all-world talent.

His statistics through two seasons are nothing short of staggering. Herbert has thrown for 9,350 yards and 69 touchdowns in only 32 career starts. At this rate, Herbert will be the owner of an MVP before too much longer. The Chargers recognize what they have in their young star and have gone all in so that they can maximize his rookie contract window.

Herbert and the Chargers are looking to take a big step forward and establish themselves as legitimate contenders in an incredibly talented AFC West. If their success comes down to Herbert’s ability to take over games, the Chargers will find themselves in a good spot at season’s end.

Cleveland Browns 2022 Opposing QB No. 3: Joe Burrow

The Cincinnati Bengals found themselves competing for a Lombardi at least a year earlier than anyone outside of the organization expected them to. The main reason for the resurgence in Cincinnati is their trigger man, Joe Burrow. The Ohio native has not shied away from putting all of the pressure on himself, and in the process, Burrow pulled the Bengals to the doorsteps of greatness last season.

While the Bengals may have been ahead of schedule last year, they are looking to put the finishing touches on an already dangerous offensive roster. The Bengals have spent the offseason solidifying their offensive line and protecting their most important asset in Burrow.

The pieces are in place for Burrow and his playmakers to take another step in 2022. However, they will be facing a first-place schedule and will get every team’s best game. Don’t look for Burrow to blink though. That’s just not his style.
