Cleveland Browns WR option No. 4: George Pickens, Georgia

Georgia wideout George Pickens is considered a smart and savvy player with the strong mental toughness to go along with his physically gifted talents. He stands in at 6-foot-3 and can catch the tough passes in traffic or get by his opponents with his elite speed. He did suffer an ACL injury this past season that affected his playing time, but he did return to the Bulldogs before the season ended.

Pickens is considered a riser on many draft boards and could be gone before Cleveland takes their first pick but could also fall because of that past ACL injury. It will be interesting to see how this player is perceived as the draft unfolds.

I suspect that some and maybe the Browns would look at Pickens long and hard. Is it worth the risk at No. 44 or would Pickens still be available later in the draft?

Pickens’s career at Georgia over his three years was one of fighting injuries not only last season but also during his sophomore year. He totaled 90 receptions for 1,347 yards and 14 touchdowns in his time with the Bulldogs.

He had a great start to his time in Georgia when he grabbed 49 passes for 727 yards and eight touchdowns. Even, in the few games he appeared in last season he still contributed some. He had an impressive 21.4 yards per catch in his brief stint.

The value of Pickens may intrigue the Browns enough in this draft to take that risk with the player’s injury history.
