Cleveland Browns WR option No. 2: Christian Watson, North Dakota, St.

Christian Watson is a very tall receiver from North Dakota State and also has been making a name for himself this offseason as he’s done well at the various activities like the Senior Bowl and has been marching up the ladder on many draft boards.

He could land in the first round but Cleveland could be considering him at pick No. 44 and if they do, I hope they don’t hesitate because this player has all the upside to be an excellent NFL wide receiver for years to come.

As a Bison, he tallied 2,140 yards and 14 touchdowns. He gained 801 yards a year ago with seven touchdowns. He scored a few touchdowns as well on the ground and was a kick returner as well. His lengthy size at 6-foot-4 helped him stand out as a target for his quarterback.

Watson has been drafted anywhere from the first to third rounds in various mock drafts. I suspect he’ll be drafted sooner than later because of that nice size and physicality that he presents for teams. He also averaged more than 20 yards a catch 57 times in his career.

He had four catches for more than 65 yards last season. He’s a big play in the waiting. How his game translates to the higher competition in the NFL remains a mystery but he did record 4.36 seconds 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine. His versatility, from catching passes to fielding kickoffs is a bonus when considering drafting Watson
