Cleveland Browns  No. 3 player to drop to them in the draft: David Ojabo, LB/Edge Rusher, Michigan

David Ojabo had been projected to be a high first-round pick coming into the draft but at his pro day up in Michigan he suffered a torn Achilles injury. It was an awful injury for the young man as he was projected so high in the draft.

He was ranked as one of the best linebackers in the country, standing at 6-4 and 250 pounds. As a member of the Browns, he would be used on the edge as a defensive end. He had top-notch speed and could get to the quarterback a lot at the collegiate level.

He wasn’t talked about much before last season at Michigan and is considered a work in progress but the 35 tackles, 12 for losses, the five forced fumbles, and the 11 sacks last year in Ann Arbor as part of a very good Wolverine team had him leaping up in the rankings fast.

Now with this new injury that will likely have him sit out all of the upcoming NFL season, what team would be willing to take that on now? The Browns need some depth at end along with Myles Garrett. If Ojabo is there at No. 44, I’d have to believe the team would consider drafting him. They could wait out the year and allow him to recover fully for the following season. I see this move as a win-win for any team that is willing to take him.
