Cleveland Browns should target this small school stud No. 3: Dominique Robinson, DE, Miami (OH)

Of all the college prospects I reviewed for this article, I’m probably most intrigued by Dominique Robinson. He’s a local product first which is pretty cool and he’s played many different roles in his years before this draft. He’s from Canton, Ohio, and played quarterback for high school powerhouse Canton McKinley. He went to Miami(OH) and started out playing wide receiver and now he’s transitioned to defensive end.

He’s definitely an athlete and having played various positions for his previous football teams is a big plus. He’s a quick study and although he’s a prospect that needs a lot of molding and fine-tuning he’s going to be a good player in the league for a long time. The fact that he’s a local product is an interesting twist to the Browns trying to find a solid prospect at the edge spot.

Robinson finished this last season with 28 tackles, 8.5 for losses, and 4.5 sacks. He stands at 6’5 and a slim 255 lbs. so there is work to be done in making him stronger. He will be a project in the NFL but a team like Cleveland could use a very athletic and gifted athlete. He’s projected to be drafted anywhere from the third to the sixth round.

Cleveland Browns should target this small school stud No. 2: Jalen Tolbert, WR, South Alabama

No, Jalen Tolbert isn’t from Alabama rather he’s from South Alabama. And though it’s a much smaller school and not nearly as competitive as the programs they play against, Tolbert has the size at 6-3 to go after those tough balls to catch and has excellent speed to break away from his defenders.

His route running is good and he can usually get open underneath. He can also burst by his competition regularly. It may take him some time to get more used to the speed of the NFL but he’ll be a quick study.

He went for over 1,474 yards on 82 catches last season and he scored eight touchdowns and averaged 18 yards a catch. In his last three games of last season, he went for a total of 442 yards receiving against the likes of Tennessee, Coast Carolina, and Appalachian State.

Cleveland needs to find a couple of new wide receivers in this draft. Tolbert will likely be available in the third round or beyond, so maybe at current Browns picks at No. 78 or 99 the team could take this player with a huge upside.
