Player No. 1 Cleveland Browns will regret not drafting: LB, Nakobe Dean, Georgia

Georgia linebacker Nakobe Dean was projected to be taken in the first round, but he slid down the draft board over the first two days. There is a history of injuries to Dean but he’s an excellent linebacker.

A need for a linebacker wasn’t a priority for the team but neither was an unknown cornerback. Many other teams passed on Dean as well, so many teams will regret not drafting him. The Philadelphia Eagles, who historically have always had strong defenses were the smart ones in taking Dean this weekend.

While at Georgia, Dean was an absolute stud racking up the tackles and causing havoc on the football field. He tallied 168 total tackles in his three seasons. He had 10.5 of those for losses this past season and six sacks. He deflected five passes, had two interceptions, and forced two fumbles.

Imagining him playing linebacker for the Browns and pairing up with the Cleveland current linebacker Jeremiah Owusu-Koromoah would have been ideal. But that’s not going to be the case and that’s unfortunate.

At least the Baltimore Ravens didn’t select him too. For the Browns, the draft ended up going well but these three players that they passed on will likely have great careers and we’ll all be watching them tear up the league.
