Baker Mayfield has been a polarizing figure in his football career and now he waits, as we all do in seeing when, how and where he goes next

As a Cleveland Browns fan, you might feel like you’re in an episode of the old Twilight Zone show, where things have felt a bit off with the whole Baker Mayfield trade stories. The Browns, several other teams, and Baker Mayfield himself have all been involved in this story and with every day that passes, it seems that more questions and speculation arise.

Various opinions are being shared by many and while those thoughts can be okay it’s not making the final outcome in this whole saga any faster to get to. Many questions are swirling around in my head, as might be the case with many Browns fans pretty much done with this whole never-ending story.

While there’s an opinion by many that the Browns are willing to wait things out and maximize their return if they trade Mayfield — so they don’t have to pay the last year of his guaranteed salary — there is that other opinion that simply states that Mayfield will be released in the end because other NFL teams know that Cleveland is basically stuck with this quarterback sitting on their team roster. That means they don’t have to accommodate the Browns pursuit of a trade.

While I’ve tried trusting the process in which the Browns general manager Andrew Berry and his front office colleagues have always tried to show in their actions over the past two seasons, they pretty much blew all of that process up when they went and traded for and sold the farm to acquire quarterback Deshaun Watson a couple of months ago and guaranteed him $230 million. The Browns themselves abandoned the process and in doing so have gotten themselves in quite the pickle.

With that as a backdrop let’s go a bit deeper and look at a few more questions involving Baker Mayfield.
