Week 4, Oct. 2: Cleveland Browns at Atlanta Falcons

Another team that went after Deshaun Watson — and nearly got him — was the Atlanta Falcons. In the end, Watson chose the Browns, and that sets the stage for some intrigue as Watson and the Browns head to Atlanta the first weekend of October.

Cleveland should be the favorites in this one because the Falcons are a mess. They have far too few weapons and Marcus Mariota is nothing more than a stop-gap starter.

Prediction: Browns 28, Falcons 16

Week 5, Oct. 9: Cleveland Browns vs. Los Angeles Chargers

After a 4-0 start, Cleveland fans won’t know what to do with themselves. Unfortunately, things start to get really tough by Week 5 as the Los Angeles Chargers come to town. Cleveland nearly beat L.A. last season, but the Chargers showed how quickly they can put up points — and their defense could be elite with the addition of Khalil Mack. This ends up being the first loss of the season for the Browns.

Prediction: Chargers 41, Browns 30

Week 6, Oct. 16: Cleveland Browns vs. New England Patriots

While the Chargers were able to come back against the Browns in 2021 and knock them off, the New England Patriots completely embarrassed them. Mac Jones was cerebral and the Pats won 45-7. This season, Cleveland gets their revenge.

Prediction: Browns 33, Patriots 27

Week 7, Oct. 23: Cleveland Browns at Baltimore Ravens

It’s hard to hate any team more than the Steelers but the Ravens are up there. That will only get worse as they end up with a Week 7 win in OT.

Prediction: Ravens 34, Browns 31

Week 8, Oct. 31: Cleveland Browns vs. Cincinnati (MNF)

Another AFC North showdown, and another loss. The Browns have had a lot of good fortune against Joe Burrow and sadly, that comes to an end here as the Bengals — who have a revamped new offensive line — find a way to steal one at the end of regulation.

Prediction: Bengals 27, Browns 24

Record in October: 2-3
Overall Record: 5-3
