Cleveland Browns schedule release: 2022 full-season predictions
By Randy Gurzi
Week 17, Jan. 1: Cleveland Browns at Washington Commanders
Carson Wentz and the Washington Commanders are another team that could be sneaky good. They currently have Terry McLaurin and just added Jahan Dotson which could make them hard to run with. Antonio Gibson also gives them an impressive running game to go along with this dangerous passing attack.
Throw in the fact that Chase Young can completely take over a game and this one could be a trap game for the Browns. After their loss to the Saints, this feels like it should be a bounce-back game, but instead, it makes Week 18 very interesting as Cleveland will need a win in the Steel City to secure a playoff berth.
Week 18, Jan. 8: Cleveland Browns at Pittsburgh Steelers
While the two losses in a row will upset fans, it will end up being worth it when they head to Pittsburgh with something to prove. With a chance to punch their own playoff ticket — and not need any sort of tie-breaking help — the Browns hit the road to face the Steelers.
The big question here will be who they face under center. Mitchell Trubisky started at quarterback but by Week 18, the Steelers might be ready to see what rookie Kenny Pickett can do.
In this prediction, the Steelers are out of the playoff picture and the rookie is starting. That bodes well for Cleveland who punches their ticket to the dance, while also sweeping the Steelers.
Prediction: Browns 33, Steelers 14
Record in January: 1-1
Overall Record: 11-6
