Notable Cleveland Browns 2022 Schedule Observation No. 2

Almost every game is a 1 PM start time

When you look at the Browns schedule you’ll notice a lack of prime time games and an abundance of 1 PM starts times. That isn’t necessarily a bad thing, so please don’t use this as the NFL hating the Cleveland Browns. There are a few games on the Browns schedule that could very well be flexed to prime time, but as of now, it’s only two games.

One of the reasons and likely the biggest reason that the Browns were excluded from more prime-time games is Watson and the 22 pending civil suits filed against him. I’m sure the NFL did not want that discussed a ton in prime time.

The two prime-time games are against divisional rivals, so that’s not a bad thing to have. The first is Week 3 when the Browns host the Steelers on Thursday Night Football and that will be the start of a brand new chapter for the two storied franchises.

Then arguably the most-anticipated “fun” game of the year comes in Week 8 when the Browns host the Bengals on Monday Night Football on Halloween night. Let’s just hope that this year’s Halloween performance is better than last year’s.

Of all the games on the schedule for the Browns in 2022 that start at 1 PM, there is only one time that the team will have to travel out of the eastern time zone and that’s not until Week 13 when Watson will take on his former team, the Houston Texans. Outside of that trip, the longest trip travel-wise is in Week 10 when Cleveland heads down to South Beach to take on the new-look Dolphins. Not having to travel across the country or even the world will be a huge benefactor for the Browns this season.

Another good thing about all the 1 PM start times is the fact that the team can develop and get into a groove in terms of routines leading up to kick off every week.
