Cleveland Browns worst pick No. 4: QB Brady Quinn – taken 22nd overall in the 2007 draft

Up until the recent trade for Deshaun Watson, the Browns had been looking for their long-term quarterback since their return in 1999. In 2007, they knocked it out of the park with their first pick in round one by selecting future Hall of Famer Joe Thomas.

After that selection, they traded back into the first round and took Notre Dame quarterback Brady Quinn with the 22nd selection. At that time, many thought that the Browns had found their franchise left tackle and a franchise quarterback in the same draft.

It was hard not to be excited about Quinn, who was a star in college. When he saw his first action in an NFL game, he looked promising. But unfortunately for Browns fans and Quinn, it didn’t get much better than what was seen in the first game.

He only played three seasons in Cleveland going 3-9 as a starter, throwing a combined 10 touchdowns and nine interceptions. He never could read defenses properly at the next level and it sadly lead to him being out of the league entirely after only four seasons. Quinn now works as a commentator for college games and that seems to suit him better.
