Cleveland Browns Offensive Line Depth

The Browns have one of the most talented and complete offensive lines in all of professional football. To boot, they are coached by one of the most prolific offensive line coaches in the history of the game Bill Callahan. But what do they have behind their starters?

Interior offensive line depth

The Browns interior offensive line is the strength of the unit, and that remains true even when it comes to their backups. Michael Dunn, Blake Hance, and Drew Forbes are all NFL-quality offensive guards and would make any roster in the league if they were to become available. When you combine their All-Pro starters, Joel Bitonio and Wyatt Teller, with their exceptional depth, the Browns are in phenomenal shape at the guard position.

This offseason the Browns moved on from perennial starter and non-practice participant, JC Tretter. Now the Browns turn to Nick Harris to be the man running the point. Even with Harris’ limited sample size as a starter, the Browns know what they have in him due to Harris running with the starters in practice for the previous two seasons.

But the Browns still insulated the center position by signing former Seattle Seahawk starting center, Ethan Pocic. With 40 NFL starts under his belt, Pocic is a solid backup should Harris get injured or falter in his new role. Behind Pocic the Browns have a litany of players who could potentially step in, including newly drafted Dawson Deaton. The rookie is getting an opportunity to compete at guard but played an extensive amount of center in college.
