Former Cleveland Browns player No. 2 – Kevin Johnson, Wide Receiver

Trust me, I get that Kevin Johnson will never go down as one of the Cleveland Browns greats, but we can’t forget he was the offensive rookie of the year in 1999. The former 32nd overall pick (which was round two at the time), spent just over four seasons with the Browns where he by far had his most success in the NFL.

For all the true die-hard fans out there, you’ll likely remember that Kevin Johnson was who caught the hail marry from Tim Couch in the first win of the 1999 season. After a three-year hiatus from the league, there were many bumpy rides, but I remember watching that game thinking that there was no way they would win the game and they were on their way to 0-8.

Not only do I love Johnson from that catch, but he is also a perfect fit for what this 2022 team really needs. A smaller guy who can line up in the slot and beat you deep, or gash you running across the middle with his speed.

No matter who the quarterback is of this team, they are still in desperate need of some help at wide receiver. One of the biggest mistakes that Berry has made during his tenure is overvaluing players at that position in 2021. Let’s hope he learned his lesson and he still has a few tricks up his sleeve.

The rumor mill is swirling that Will Fuller is still the guy. However, if Watson is suspended for the entire season, you may not see that pan out.  I believe that is what’s holding up a deal.
