3 Surprise landing spots for Baker Mayfield in 2022

Baker Mayfield Landing Spot No. 2 – Seattle Seahawks
The Seattle Seahawks don’t want to play their hand, but why in the world would they not be interested in Baker Mayfield? After Russell Wilson all but forced his way out, this city is not going to be patient with a rebuild. There’s plenty of talent to win now, and Drew Lock hasn’t proven to this point he is anywhere close to ready to be leading a winning organization.
Plus, the rumors have been flying for years that Seattle was almost ready to trade the Browns for the rights to Mayfield before the 2018 draft. They knew then Wilson wasn’t going to be the forever guy and were trying to plan.
At this point, the Seahawks could get a free one-year look to see if Mayfield is the guy, and at least show fans that they are trying to win games. If it doesn’t work out, you can walk away and still likely have a great pick. If he’s fantastic, you can then have an option to sign him for the long-term.
One thing I can tell you about Mayfield is that someone who takes a chance on him this season will be close to his heart. Everyone cares about money, but I could see him giving a huge discount to someone if he played well just for giving him the chance.
At the end of the day, if Berry shows he is willing to eat at least half of the salary and a fifth-round pick in 2023, I think the Cleveland Browns and Seattle Seahawks would both be silly to pass on a deal.
