Baker Mayfield: 3 reasons the Browns are struggling to find trade partner

Reason for no interest in Baker Mayfield No. 1 – Other Options Available
What man people tend to forget is this market is driven by supply and demand. Now, obviously, you must have a product worth demanding, but no matter how good the product you have is if there are too many it’s going to get undervalued.
Right now, Jimmy Garoppolo appears to also be available. He has a bigger contract hit than Mayfield in 2022, but he has proven a lot more and if injuries hadn’t got in the way he could be looking at a massive haul for his services.
At the end of the day, would you rather pay $7 million more a year (could be less with some sort of re-structure) for a guy like Garoppolo over Mayfield? I know some of you guys that have over-valued what Mayfield’s done for this organization would disagree, but I think an unbiased fan would take Jimmy G every single time.
You also saw more quarterback movement this offseason than ever before and the Browns still couldn’t find a good partner. Russell Wilson, Matt Ryan, and Watson all changed hands, yet no one was quite desperate enough to give up anything for Mayfield.
I don’t want to paint a bad picture of Mayfield. He took the Browns to the playoffs and beat the Steelers in Pittsburgh, so I’ll always be thankful to him.
But at the end of the day, Berry is going to have real trouble moving him unless he is willing to pay a big chunk of that 2022 guaranteed salary.
